and out of reach of pets, children, draperies & furniture

+ if flame is too high, flickering, or smoking extinguish candle and make sure there are no drafts nearby

+ never leave candle unattended

+ when burning pillar style or container candles in particular, it is best to let them burn 1 hr per diameter of the candle for even burning (this is usually 2-3 hours)
