Take up space. Live life out loud. Be brave and rebellious. Change the narrative. Stand up. Be a lover – of joy, of justice, of others, of uniqueness, of kindness, of beauty, and, most importantly, of yourself.
Amy Pence-Brown has been a body image activist and scholar for the past 10 years and often uses her body as a political vessel and canvas for her work. In 2015 she stripped down to a black bikini and blindfolded herself with a sign and markers at the farmers market in downtown Boise in the name of radical self-acceptance. A video of the performance, along with a blog post she wrote, went viral (to the tune of over 200 million views to date!). Her work and voice as a fat feminist mother gained international attention and she continues promoting self-love and body liberation as a writer, artist, public speaker, educator, leader of the Boise Rad Fat Collective and founder of RADCAMP: A Body Positive Boot Camp for Feminists & Feminist Teens. 30% of sales from every purchase of the RADCAMP earrings will go to help fund her camp for teens ages 13-15 and her new workshop for girls ages 10-12 in 2020.
